Dmitry Tulchinsky
Philadelphia (US)

Dmitry is a registered patent agent and recent law school graduate whose 10 years’ experience in IP focuses on strategic counseling in intellectual property, with emphasis in patent matters. His practice involves strategic IP portfolio development and implementation including preparing and prosecuting patent applications, rendering invalidity and non-infringement opinions; and conducting due diligence to support in- and out-licensing efforts.

Prior to his current role, he held positions of Patent Agent and IP Liaison at various Fortune 500 companies, including Colgate-Palmolive, DuPont, and Johnson & Johnson. His support entailed pharmaceuticals, polymer chemistry, biologics, and material science. In particular, he was a member of the IP strategy team tasked with developing novel IP strategies for biopolymer engineering for biomaterial applications.

Before becoming a full-time IP professional, Dmitry worked as a scientific researcher for 10 years within academic and industrial laboratories. This work culminated in the discovery/characterization of three molecular entities for human clinical trials. This experience helps Dmitry understand both the discovery and product launch intricacies involved for such endeavors.
