Jacob F. Blumert is an accomplished intellectual property attorney and chemical engineer with extensive experience working with clients in the chemical, medical device, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and consumer products industries. Jacob focuses his practice on the development and management of Intellectual Property (IP) portfolios, risk assessments and client counseling.
Jacob works closely with clients to identify protectable subject matter; develop and execute strategies for protecting clients’ innovations globally; and prepare and prosecute patent applications. In addition, Jacob has substantial experience analyzing the risk associated with commercial activities; proposing strategies for mitigating risks associated with third party IP rights; preparing opinion letters, and leading complex IP due diligence to support growth initiatives. Jacob also has experience with contentious intellectual property related matters, e.g., litigation and opposition proceedings.
Jacob acquired industry experience working as a research and development chemist for a global cosmetic company. He attended Drexel University school of Law, and concentrated on intellectual property law. Jacob was a member of the Drexel Law Review and a recipient of the prestigious Robert B. Washburn Intellectual Property Law Scholarship. Jacob is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and in front of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
